"Maybe there is a universal truth embedded in everyone's soul.
Maybe we all have the same story hiding inside
like a shared constant in our DNA.
Maybe this collective truth is responsible for the similarity in all our stories.
Truth has a power
and if we all gravitate towards similar ideas,
maybe we do so because those ideas are true,
written deep within is
and when we hear the truth,
even if we don't understand it,
we fell that truth resonate within us,
vibrating with our unconscious wisdom.
Perhaps the truth is not learned by us,
but rather
REcalled
REmembered
REcognized
as that which is already inside us."

Say Hello, Not Goodbye
- Eternia and MoSS "Goodbye" from the amazing album "At Last"
"Many labels slept on a chick,
they wouldn't sign me."
I don't get that at all. She is awesome. Go buy her album and support real hip-hop.

Enchanted
I don't have one specific quote to share with you today for Tube Tuesdays. But I did want to point your attention to this movie, Enchanted.
I was completely blown away by this film. It is about a storybook princess who is banished to the "real world" by an evil Queen.
Amy Adams is absolutely perfect in this film. She sounds exactly how you'd expect a storybook princess to sound. She is wonderfully naive in this film as well. I couldn't help but fall in love with her.
The story is quite well done. It's a warm fairy tale that winds together everything we know about fairy tales in a novel way. If you have kids, watch it with them.

Stories Are Useful Tools
"Stories are the most helpful tools a child has for sorting this all out. Stories have authority. Stories normalize. Stories model behaviour and feeling. Stories model the power to make stories – a power that children must develop in order to manage their own particular individual worlds, the ones seen through their own unique eyes."

Strange Wiring
"We're not only wired to want what we can't have, but we're also wired to want what we really don't want."

Fruits of Your Labour Can Produce Stars
"You can't have the fruits without the root."

In other words, put in the work. You need to plant the seeds, nurture the plant, and tend to it to see results.

Canadian Hip-Hop Heads Need To See This
"They call me the Godfather of Canadian hip-hop, but I’ve been studying Shad, studying D-Sisive, I’ve been studying Saukrates. I’m a student of hip-hop – that’s how we grow."
- Maestro Fresh Wes
This is an amazing post and video that every Canadian hip-hop head needs to check.
