Not Everything Needs to be New

"It's almost impossible to start something new nowadays. Hip-hop is like a [slam] dunk contest. There's not too many dunks left that someone can do. You can only jump from the free-throw line so many times, you can only put it through your legs some many times, windmill, whatever. All we're doing right now is preserving. We're not claiming to start anything new or try to be something new. I'm just preserving the shit that I used to listen to and the era I grew up in."

- The Left, hip-hop group
